Alvarado Photography went way beyond my expectations. My
family traveled to Hawaii in July 2012. The main reason for our trip was to
visit friends & family and to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I
decided to hire a professional photographer to take outdoor family pictures at
Ko Olina because we were married there. After googling Hawaii Photographers I
contacted Alvarado Photography. I was really impressed with their gallery and
that they had experience taking pictures at Ko Olina. Jess replied promptly to
my initial e-mail. She was very professional and efficient throughout our
communications. Jess suggested we schedule the photos from 6-7pm, but I was
apprehensive. I was a concerned about the lighting at that time, but Jess
reassured me that it would be alright. She was RIGHT! I love the fact that we
were able to get daylight shots and sunset shots. They both turned out
beautiful! My husband was concerned that our children (4yrs and 7yrs) would not
cooperate. But Jess and her assistant came prepared to work with kids! They did
a fabulous job getting them to smile. Their smiles were happy and genuine. We
were very impress with how they kept our kids engaged. Her assistant even kept
them occupied while we took pictures of just my husband and me. We love ALL of
pictures that Jess presented for us to choose from. They made the process of
taking family pictures stress free, and we recommend them to any friends and
family. We will to call them again the next time we are in Hawaii!!! ALOHA and

When my husband and I booked our 25th Anniversary trip to
Oahu, Hawaii, I thought it would be great to book a professional photo shoot at

Couldn t have had such a beautiful wedding without the

We chose Alvarado Photography for our destination wedding on
Oahu. From the start, they were great to work with. Throughout the entire
planning process, they were very responsive and made the planning process easy.
Their price is very reasonable compared to most photographers on Oahu. Jess was
able to incorporate photos we liked and ideas and helped us get the exact shots
we wanted. Even as obstacles arrived prior to the wedding, they made everything
we wanted work. They even brought in an extra photographer the week before the

Absolutely loved John and Jess! From our very first meeting
they were very easy to meet with and accommodated to our work schedules. They
were so professional and ALL of the pictures they took on the day of our

John and Jess did an excellent job for us on our engagement and wedding photo
shoots. The pictures are beautiful and we are very pleased! Working with them
was very pleasant. They were calm, confident, and decisive while also being
very accommodating. Our wedding package included a mini engagement photo shoot,
and we feel like they went above and beyond for that. On our wedding day, we
had a very tight schedule, and although there were concerns that we might not
have enough time to get all the photos we wanted, John and Jess did a great job
of keeping things moving. We were able to get in nearly all of the important
shots that we wanted, and they turned out great! The communication we received
from them was great, too. We feel that we got a great value and had a pleasant
experience with Alvarado and strongly recommend them.

Alvarado Photography in a word is...INCREDIBLE! I researched
different photographers throughout Oahu, and Alvarado had the best value for
our money. They re communication was very prompt throughout the time leading up

John and Jess took our Family Photos and they did an awesome
job. We have a 23 month old son and 6 month old daughter and they had a blast.
They took over 200 pictures and not one frown, no crying. They enjoyed playing
with them so much, my Husband I probably could have left an our kids woudln t have
noticed. I was excited top see these pictures during the photo session and I
was far from disappointed when they were available for proofing. The photos are

Amazing Experience with AP Alvarado Photography shoot our
wedding photos in Oahu. We had two different locations (Waimanalo Beach Park
and Makapu’u Beach)and we think it was great idea from Jess to get two
locations. Jess was always there, if I had any questions and it was really easy
to do everything over the phone. Jess and her friend made the photo shoot
really fun and easy on us. They were joking around and made us feel comfortable
and special, but professional in every way. Our two hours session was great

Our family wanted to commemorate our first trip to Hawaii with professional
photos and after searching online we decided to book with Alvarado as their
portfolio pictures were gorgeous and the prices were very affordable. I mainly
dealt with Jess by email contact and she was extremely professional and

ideas as to where on the island we should choose for our shoot. On the day of
the shoot we met at Ko Olina and had a great time with both John and Jess

My wife and I have traveled to Hawaii several times for both
work and pleasure. But this last time was particularly special because we took
our 1.5 year old baby boy with us for his first trip to paradise. We thought
that it would be perfect to have his 1.5 year portraits taken on the island,
rather than some stuffy studio back home. But, of course, we procrastinated,
and didn’t start looking into it until near the last minute. After a bit of
internet searching, we came across Alvarado. The price looked right, and the
photos on their website looked perfect. After an email and a phone
conversation, we were sold. They were very accommodating, and choose a perfect
location on a beach in Honolulu (though they offered other more distant
locations). The location was great, because you could get two very different
backgrounds (Waikiki and Diamond head on one side, sandy beach and ocean view
on the other). We met Jess at the car, and walked down to the beach to meet her
husband John, who does most of the shooting, while Jess does the logistics.
They were both wonderful people, friendly, accommodating, and quite skilled at
what they do. Although we were primarily interested in portraits of the baby,
they threw in many great family and couple photos as well, and the one hour
photo session included the option for us to change clothes (which we did). They
were really professional the whole time, and even brought toys and bubbles to
get the baby to smile. Finally, after our shoot, we were extremely pleased with
the photos that we were able to view and choose online once we got home. They
did a magical job, and we couldn’t have been happier. We’d use Alvarado again
in a second. They were great!
My fiance and I recently became engaged and decided to get
our pictures taken professionally. After looking for a couple weeks we decided
to go with Alvarado Photography. Thank God we did! We were immediately
contacted by Jess. She was very friendly and helped us choose a photo package
and location. We met them at Ko Olina beach on a Sunday. It was pretty busy
near the beach area because of a wedding, but Jess and her husband had no
problem setting us up for some great poses. We will be heading back to the

My husband and I are beyond ecstatic with our decision to

expectations. I'm very big in to photography and having photographers who were
very good at just capturing the moment was a big deal to me. I came across the

More than you could expect! My now fiance and I went to Oahu

little skeptical. I then Google Alvarado Photography and also found them on
Facebook. I read through all the reviews and felt 100% comfortable to go ahead
and book the session and make a 50% deposit online. I had no doubt in my mind
that our photos would turn out great, as I fell in love with their work
instantly. The pricing was amazingly so reasonable that it did not make any
sense not to book a session. Jess and John were always so accommodating
changing our session from a morning shoot to sunset; I had a lot of questions
about what locations we should shoot at, what we should wear... They were
really helpful and it helped that they always responded so quickly. They made
it super easy to book and make payments online. When we got to the photo shoot
at Bellows Beach it was a bit grey out and I was worried that the pictures
would turn out dim and the ocean water would not turn out as blue as I would
have liked. Also it was super winding and did not know what to expect as I felt
like my hair was always wrapped around my face and I'd probably look funny. I
was so wrong they must have done a great job editing everything because none of
my worries showed in any of the photos. The photos were ready to view on time
within 2 weeks and they turned out absolutely breath taking. It had turned out
more than I could ever expect. I am beyond happy and they have captured one of
the most memorable days of our lives. I could not express how extremely satisfy
I am with their quick and professional service. I wish they didn't live so far
away as I wish I could have them shoot my wedding and every other important
event in life! Thank you so much John and Jess, we could not thank you enough
for the amazing job you did! I highly recommend Alvarado Photography to
everyone! Especially people traveling to Oahu from outside USA or not familiar
or have not traveled to Hawaii. You don't have to worry about whether you are

Amazing pictures! My family and I wanted to get family
pictures taken, and we are amazed at how great the pictures turned out. John
and Jess did a great job with making us feel comfortable and at ease during the
session. They did a great job at keeping the attention of our 4 year old son.
My husband and I discussed on our way home, how easy the process was and were
hopeful to have a few good pictures. We now have our pictures and love every
single one, they all turned out great and look wonderful. You won't be

Our pictures came out amazing! Usually when taking pictures

I found Alvardo Photography online, while I was searching many Oahu
photographers to take me and my husband one year anniversary. Our 30 min

hired the Alvarados for a photo shoot while on vacation this past July - it was
a big group (16 people from 4 different families and that included 4 kids under
5 years old). It takes some organization and coordination to wrangle a group
that large. Jess and John were great. John took photos while Jess helped to
arrange and compose all of the different people into particular shots. I was
pleased at the variety of shots they managed to get - it wasn't just the same
pose with different people in it when they took photos of the individual
families. As the parent of a toddler, I also appreciated that they were
prepared with a few 'tricks' to evoke a smile when the little ones got cranky.
When my son reached his limit and would no longer cooperate, John astutely
suggested a quick walk on the beach, which turned out to be some of my favorite
photos. I was impressed how quickly they were able to change direction and roll
with whatever situation arose. They were also very generous with their time -
they stayed over the allotted time to get the last of the pictures completed
and we really appreciated that. It was a great experience all around. Our
pictures look great - everyone in our family is pleased with the results and we
wouldn't hesitate to recommend John and Jess.

online portfolio and getting a sense of their photographic style, we pretty

messages and answered all the questions we had. The photo session itself was
great - Jess was great organizing us, getting us to try various poses, and

and have a mini session. Any time I had questions or concerns they would always
respond in a timely manner. The pictures turned out better than I could have
dreamed. They will be memories that last a life time.

fortunate enough to have met the Alvarado's through some friends of mine. So I
knew that I wanted to do a different kind of gift for Fathers' day and our 10yr
anniversary, but I needed to keep it a secret since he is on a remote tour. He
is serving a years duty in Greenland. However, he does get a mid-tour break and
we will be able to give him a wonderful gift. I found the prices to be very reasonable.
I already knew what wonderful work they did since I had seen there work through
our mutual friends. They were able to get my 4 year old daughter to have fun,
laugh and enjoy the shoot. I love the way they are able to capture true emotion
through their photography. We are looking forward to another photoshoot with

of seven used Alvarado Photography to have family photos taken on the beach.
John and Jess were both extremely professional. When I asked a question prior
to our shoot I was responded to in a timely manner. John and Jess had a variety
of poses for us and also took our ideas into account; the end result was
beautiful photos! They were very patient with our large group which included a
16 month old. We will definitely use Alvarado Photography again the next time
we visit Oahu.

of my husband, dog and I before he left for deployment. We also had good
friends visiting the island, so we added an extra hour for them as their
wedding present. We did some photos of just couples and some photos all
together and they all turned out amazing! John and Jess were wonderful to work
with; they are an excellent team. John takes the photographs, while Jess works
with you on poses. She also handles the business end (emails, payments, etc.).
They were both very professional. We were able to view our edited pictures 13
days after our shoot. It was hard to pick which ones because they were all so
wonderful!! I would definitely recommend them to my friends, especially since

were GREAT! We had AP shoot our wedding. John wasted no time (the bride was
running late) and took pictures we requested while we waited for her. They
turned out amazing, they did great color effects on our pictures and they are
all GREAT quality. He got all the shots we wanted plus others we didn't even
know would mean so much to us. We are recommending them to all our friends and
plan on having them take more pictures of us when we visit Hawaii!
