make our August 2011 wedding so memorable for us! The Alvarado Photography
website caught my eye when I was searching for photographers in the Honolulu
area. The locations, attention to detail and re-touches were very impressive.
My first point of contact was Jess. She was SO helpful and so patient with all
my questions and concerns. Living in Arizona, we had no idea where to hold our
wedding in Hawaii. After listening to how I pictured my wedding site to be, Jess
suggested the Secret Beach. I had a good feeling about her so I felt

windy. However, there is no way you would have ever known through our pictures.
Jess and John were so easy and fun to work with. We were able to book
everything via email with short notice for our weekday shoot. My favorite part
about the shoot was getting wet! They had so many ideas for crazy/fun poses. I
will definately use AP again whether we make a trip to Hawaii again or if they

with Alvarado Photography for our family. We hadn't had any family photos done
yet, so this was a must before my husband deploys. Jess and JohnRey were more
then willing to make sure this was a wonderful experience for all of us, we're
new to the island so I took a leap of faith and put the location strictly in
their hands, and did not view before hand. We got to the location- and it was AMAZING. I
couldnt have picked a better one if someone asked me to! After the shoot on the

hired the Alvarados for a photo shoot while on vacation this past July - it was
a big group (16 people from 4 different families and that included 4 kids under
5 years old). It takes some organization and coordination to wrangle a group
that large. Jess and John were great. John took photos while Jess helped to
arrange and compose all of the different people into particular shots. I was
pleased at the variety of shots they managed to get - it wasn't just the same
pose with different people in it when they took photos of the individual
families. As the parent of a toddler, I also appreciated that they were
prepared with a few 'tricks' to evoke a smile when the little ones got cranky.
When my son reached his limit and would no longer cooperate, John astutely
suggested a quick walk on the beach, which turned out to be some of my favorite
photos. I was impressed how quickly they were able to change direction and roll
with whatever situation arose. They were also very generous with their time -
they stayed over the allotted time to get the last of the pictures completed
and we really appreciated that. It was a great experience all around. Our
pictures look great - everyone in our family is pleased with the results and we
wouldn't hesitate to recommend John and Jess.

visit to Oahu, we decided to take professional family portraits. We found
Alvarado Photography through a few Google searches, and after viewing their
online portfolio and getting a sense of their photographic style, we pretty
much knew we wanted them to take our portraits. Contacting Jess and John Rey to
set up the photo session was easy - they were very prompt responding to my
messages and answered all the questions we had. The photo session itself was
great - Jess was great organizing us, getting us to try various poses, and
getting my little one to smile and look at the camera. John Rey was there with
the camera to capture every smile (and you parents out there know how difficult
it can be to get a rambunctious toddler to focus). Previewing the proofs and
selecting the final shots was easy too, and their website is well-organized and

were pleased to find Alvarado Photography online, with their reasonable rates,
and awesome responsiveness. AP was the consummate professional even with our
far from ideal conditions come picture taking time: A storm was going through,
it was windy & rainy, our 3 year old started off the session throwing a
fit, our 1 yr old girl just wouldn’t smile, and it was high tide. AP did
wonderfully handling all the aforementioned. Honestly, we didn’t expect much
for the pictures, but when we actually saw what they took, they were all simply
beautiful!!! We are very thankful and appreciative that AP was able to capture
our family moments at one of our favorite places!

wonderful time in Hawaii, and what we got was even more wonderful that we had

were looking for a family photographer to take photos of us on the beach. Boy

work with, and pictures turned out awesome. We researched photographers on Oahu months
before our vacation and chose Alvarado Photography over all others and have not
regretted our decision at all. Jess and John was very responsive to all our
questions which aided us tremendously in our vacation planning efforts. On the
day of our photo session, they arrived on time and within a couple of minutes
made us feel like we were family and not just another client. Throughout the
session it was very apparent that they knew what they were doing; even got our
four year-old to follow their directions which is a feat by itself. As
promised, our pictures were provided to us on time for our review. Since we
live in Missouri, this was done via web which made the selection process very

knew that I wanted to do a different kind of gift for Fathers' day and our 10yr

we will be able to give him a wonderful gift. I found the prices to be very reasonable.

of my husband, dog and I before he left for deployment. We also had good
friends visiting the island, so we added an extra hour for them as their
wedding present. We did some photos of just couples and some photos all
together and they all turned out amazing! John and Jess were wonderful to work
with; they are an excellent team. John takes the photographs, while Jess works
with you on poses. She also handles the business end (emails, payments, etc.).
They were both very professional. We were able to view our edited pictures 13
days after our shoot. It was hard to pick which ones because they were all so

Uriah Lyford 5/5 STARS THEY ARE TRUE PROFESSIONALS. John and Jess
were GREAT! We had AP shoot our wedding. John wasted no time (the bride was
running late) and took pictures we requested while we waited for her. They
turned out amazing, they did great color effects on our pictures and they are
all GREAT quality. He got all the shots we wanted plus others we didn't even
know would mean so much to us. We are recommending them to all our friends and
plan on having them take more pictures of us when we visit Hawaii!
5/5 STARS We have now used Alvarado Photography twice for
our family pictures and I could not be happier! Our last session was also a vow
renewal and they really helped to make our day a very special event! When we
first moved to Hawaii I was doing research for a photographer and could not
believe some of the prices, when I came across their wedstie and saw their
amazing work I was literally speechless! I can't wait for our next set!!! Thank

Photography for our Family Photo, did lots of research before deciding on them
and I am very Happy that I chose them! They are great! And was very easy to work
with them not to mention that My pictures came out FAB and the price was
affordable I get lots of comments on our pictures and people always think we
spent an arm and a leg for our session! Will definately use them soon...since
now we have a new addition to our family!
